The most controversial person in the bitcoin space right now, Craig Wright is now finding himself pushing arguments against one of the most controversial companies in the industry.

Tether to the Bandwagon

Wright is easily one of the most controversial figures in the space right now, so it’s fitting that Tether, the issuer of $4.1 billion cryptocurrency USDT, has announced it would be standing behind podcaster Peter McCormack in a lawsuit brought forward by Wright, who claims to be the man behind bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Tether’s general counsel, Stuart Hoegner, took to Twitter saying that Wright had several chances to prove he is Satoshi Nakamoto. Enough is enough, he said.

“Wright has had myriad opportunities to prove that he is Satoshi and has not definitively done so.”

Due to Wright not actually being able to prove his claims that he is Nakamoto, Hoegner said that Tether would be backing up McCormack in his legal case taking place in the United Kingdom.

Tether’s general counsel didn’t comment any further on the case though however, he tweeted out that the company would be fully supporting McCormack’s defence on the “frivolous and vexatious litigation.”

“Litigation can be drawn-out and expensive, but we are committed to the long game. We admire Peter’s conviction and are humbled to support his defense against what we see as frivolous and vexatious litigation.”

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
