The well-known American venture capitalist, marketing expert and huge crypto investor, Tim Draper is a big believer that initial public offerings (IPO) are not the best source of funding when it comes to industry companies.

Speaking at the Unitize conference earlier this week on the 6th of July, Draper gave his comments about investing in early-stage blockchain start-ups.

Draper highlighted that the current regulations don’t make it easy for many blockchain businesses to go public. In fact, he went on to say that he doesn’t recommend going public to anybody unless the company is worth at least $10 billion.

When it came to talking about blockchain entrepreneurs and how they can seek investment from large funds, he said:

“The regulators made it so expensive to go public that it’s really not worth it. The largest investments are coming from those large funds, and that tends to be an easier way to get your money than trying to go public.”

Draper further went on to talk about supporting diversity in regards to funding early-stage industry start-ups.

“If we keep backing these extraordinary entrepreneurs whoever they are, whatever they may come, we are gonna improve the world. It’s the way I look at it. I say come with whatever history you have, whatever background, whatever religion, whatever race, whatever gender, we are interested.”

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
