Jeremy Allaire, the chief executive officer of Circle recently took part in the Singapore fintech festival earlier this month where he said that third-generation blockchain technology would see digital currency in the hands of “hundreds of millions“ of users.

Jeremy made the argument that crypto assets were still very early in their development when it comes to the grand scheme of things but despite this, they are leaps and bounds ahead from that of dial-up Internet to broadband.

“We’re right on the cusp, of what I like to think of, as the broadband moment of digital currency.”

The CEO brought up the topic that ordinary people will soon become involved with crypto assets and reap the advantages that they have to offer. He said this after countering the point being made that a lot of the innovation in the industry has moved towards the experience of the consumer as he added:

“Users will be saying, ‘How could I ever have not had this before!’”

Surojit Chatterjee, an executive at Coinbase went on to highlight the point that crypto assets and bitcoin need a “TikTok moment“. This will mean that many people from all over the world will find it easy to use digital assets in the future.

Over the course of this year, adoption has significantly increased due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many big institutions are getting further involvement within the industry and particularly bitcoin, reaping the advantages it has.

If bitcoin can be used day-to-day by “ordinary“ people, then adoption will certainly have a more solidified stance and bitcoin could rise even further than it already has this year.
